MSE Week 13 NFL Power Rankings

Week 13 is upon us. Some big games for playoff seeding this week. Was there any movement in the power rankings? Let’s see.

WEEK 13 NFL POWER RANKINGS

TOP TEN

1. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (10-1): They keep winning. Say what you want about the help from referees, they are taking advantage of their opponent’s mistakes. Is it sustainable? We will see.

2. BALTIMORE RAVENS (9-3): I believe the Ravens are as complete a team as there is right now. They are in the top ten in all three phases of the game with a league best defense in points allowed.

3. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (8-3): After losing 3 straight, they have bounced back with 3 straight wins. Brock Purdy continues to lead league in QBR and the defense is back to sacking the opponents QB on a regular basis.

4. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (8-3): They are a weird team to watch right now. The offense isn’t as explosive as last year. Luckily, they have a defense that is keeping them in games while the offense figures it out.

5. DALLAS COWBOYS (8-3): Who is hotter, the Cowboys offense or Daron Bland? The opponents will be getting tougher, so let’s see what happens but this is a very good team.

6. DETROIT LIONS (8-3): I struggled with this one. They are turning the ball over too much and not taking the ball away enough. The defense, which had been performing decently, is becoming a liability.

7. MIAMI DOLPHINS (8-3): The return of Jalen Ramsey has really helped the defense. If this team can get the #1 seed in AFC that would be huge. Keeping that offense out of frigid weather would greatly help their chances.

8. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (8-3): The offense should be better, right? I can’t tell if it’s the QB or the play-calling or both. They have the weapons. Defensively, they are taking the ball away enough to win games.

9. BUFFALO BILLS (6-6): What is this team? Yes, they got screwed against the Eagles but they also make too many mistakes. Josh Allen is either the savior or the problem. Most times, in the same game.

10. HOUSTON TEXANS (6-5): CJ Stroud is breaking the “OSU QB’s aren’t good in NFL” stigma. Texans have their leader. Can he get them into the playoffs?

GAMES TO WATCH THIS WEEK

San Francisco at Philadelphia: Biggest game of the weekend. Seeding implications. If the 49ers lose, they can kiss any hope of the #1 seed goodbye. Can the Eagles defense hold up and stop Purdy, CMC, and company? BTW, is it me, or do the Eagles get all their tough games at home?

Seattle at Dallas: Who needs this game more? Dallas needs to win to keep pressure on the Eagles and extend their home win streak to 14 games. Seattle is holding onto playoff aspirations. Dak is constantly fighting the perception he can’t beat good teams (he can) so would a victory over Seattle quiet that a little?

Detroit at New Orleans: Detroit needs this game, or the whispers will become screams. Look, ultimately the Lions will go as far as their defense will allow them to. Beating the Saints on the road would be a quality win. Defense needs to step up.
